Sometimes, a glamorous career conceals some of the saddest stories. A winner of the USA and World champions in hurdle events, Lolo Jones has reached her present standing through plenty of effort and enormous amount of perseverance. Born to a single mother within a household of five kids, Jones had a difficult and a squatter's growing up. The mother of Jones moved around constantly and even lived in the basement of her church. Jones lived a nomadic existence that forced her to change school every year up to high school. Jones was able to move away from her mother and moved to Theodore Roosevelt to enable her to concentrate on her passion for track. She lived at four different houses during her years of high school to ensure that she could complete her studies at one time. Jones won an award called the Gatorade Iowa Track and Field Award for the Best Athlete during her time at school. She also was a part of the school orchestra as cellist. Jones was among the best hurdlers in her age group at the time she entered the college. In 2002, she won the winning athlete in the 100-meter hurdles at the NCAA Track & Field Championship. Jones also was a part of the second team to win the 100-meter Relay race. Jones won the NCAA Indoor Hurdles competition in the years 2003 as well as in 2004. Jones' career began in 2005 after she completed her bachelor's degree. She started training for a career in track. In 2005 she won first in the Torino Memorial race, in 2006 she was in the Heusden and Ostrava racers.

Growing up in Cape Town South Africa Brandt immigrated with her family to Auckland New Zealand in her in her late teens. The local casting directors discovered her. Brandt was cast in the role of Naevia for the Starz hit series Spartacus: Blood and Sand as well as Spartacus: Gods of the Arena. Her performance was a hit among the public and producers Steven S. D Knight, Sam Raimi and Sam Raimi. Mazikeen played the Vertigo/DC comics popular Mazikeen in Netflix's Lucifer show, which lasted for a total of six years. Forbes named Lucifer as the top binge-watched show for 2021. Brandt will next be seen in a six-episode Walking Dead limited spin-off starring Andrew Lincoln and Danai Giurira and will be aired in 2024. In the summer of 2023's Netflix adult animated comedy Captain Fall, Brandt stars alongside Jason Ritter Anthony Carrigan Chris Meloni. Lesley Ann Brandt born in Cape Town South Africa on December 2nd 1981. She is quite a talented New Zealand actress. Lesley Brandt, along with her whole family, moved to Auckland New Zealand back in 1999. After a few years of working in the retail sector, she was promoted to the IT Manager consultant. Lesley started out modeling before deciding to make an appearance in commercials. Her acting degree was completed in 2008, and then continued to study Meisner's methods. Lesley's first major acting gig was with New Zealand's TV show Diplomatic Immunity. Lesley Brandt has shown up on The New Zealand TV drama series Shortland Street as a guest support role. She then appeared in This Is Not My Life. It is based off the true story of Waimoana. Lesley Brandt appeared as Naevia a young hostage in the Television Series Spartacus: Blood and Sand. Her character was featured in Spartacus: Gods of the Arena.
